Ambush At Thi Vai
August 18, 2018
1964: The War in Vietnam has been raging for nine years. A complex geopolitical quagmire has spurred itself into a war of ideologies, between the Capitalist West and the Communist East. After a torpedo struck two United States destroyers, Operation Rolling Thunder began, thus beginning a grueling and arduous war. The first troops were deployed in Vietnam in 1965, by order of President Johnson. Among the first soldiers sent, a select few of them were sent to the banks of the Thi Vai River, a crucial trade route that supplied arms to the Viet Cong. With relative ease, these troops took these banks and established a small foothold at Thi Vai. Slowly, troops began easing out of Thi Vai until a small, ill-equipped group of soldiers remained with just enough supplies to sustain them for the next few months. Reportedly, a supply shipment will arrive August 18th, carrying small arms, ammunition, clothing, and food. Things have been quiet around Thi Vai… but the Viet-Cong are desperate for supplies.
